Melissa Olson-Petrie’s fiction, nonfiction, and poetry has been published in Southeast Review, Blue Mesa Review, cream city review, Superstition Review, and other print and online magazines. She served as a fiction editor for Hayden’s Ferry Review at Arizona State University, where she received her MFA.

Other publication credits include lifestyle reporting for a daily newspaper and feature writing for university research magazines and websites. She’s also worked behind the scenes as a supervising/project editor at a technology book publisher and as an editor for employee publications and media relations.

Olson-Petrie has taught writing and related courses at universities in Arizona and Wisconsin, most recently for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Her in-person, hybrid, and online courses have included first-year composition, business writing, journalism, editing, creative writing, developmental English, critical reading, and college study skills. In 2015 she received the Arthur M. Kaplan Award for Outstanding Teaching in the UW Colleges.
